responsibility and instills in his students the importance of being
aware of the business environment on a global scale.
Echoing the philosophy of the College of Business & Public
Management (CBPM), Yucetepe said, “We live in a global
environment. I emphasize to them that they need to be proactive,
not reactive. I don’t know everything, but I try to teach them
everything I do know.”
With the opportunities at the CBPM continuing to grow, spanning
from the campus in Union to the fully English-speaking campus in
Wenzhou, China, it is clear to see that the faculty is supportive of
the changes, and committed to fostering a student body of global
citizens, equipped with the right tools and confidence to succeed
in the world of business.
Veysel Yucetepe, director of the MBA Program for the Kean
University Global Business School, is grateful for every opportunity
he has had since growing up in the Turkish city of Bursa with his
four siblings.
“My parents always supported me. They didn’t have education but
they valued it,” said Yucetepe who was encouraged at an early age,
along with his siblings, to devote all of his time to education.
Seizing an opportunity to study in the United States after being
ranked the number one student in the area of business by the
Republic of Turkey Ministry of National Education, Yucetepe
emigrated to the U.S. in 1990 and later attained an MBA from the
Illinois Institute of Technology, and a Ph.D. in Marketing from the
University of Illinois-Chicago.
It is this strong commitment to education and to his students,
along with an unwavering willingness to listen and offer his help,
that Yucetepe demonstrates in his classroom every day.
“I like making a difference in my students’ lives, and helping them
achieve the American Dream,” says Yucetepe, who has been at
Kean since January 2003. “Whatever I do for my kids, I want to do
for my students.”
The father of three also serves as theDirector of theMS inAccounting
program, the Executive Director of the undergraduate Accounting
and Finance program, and was an integral part of getting the
