this photo of her skydiving adventure in Williamstown, N.J.
"This was my first, and last time skydiving! My high school friends and
I wanted to do something crazy before we all went away for college. I
was the first one to leave for school, so the day before I came to Kean
for field hockey preseason my freshman year we went! It was an amaz-
ing experience I'll never forget!"

Featured Artist
Ricardo Fonseca
, M.F.A, (
far right
) graphic designer for the
Office of University Relations, had his artwork, titled
Faces
of America
, showcased as part of the Pune Art Biennale
2017, which took place from January 5-29 in Pune, India.
Fonseca was the only artist from the United States to be
featured in the exclusive bi-annual art festival, a unique
exhibition hung inside of a row of cargo containers lined in
the center of the city.
Faces of America
is a digital animation
featuring portraits he took of a diverse
selection of Kean students, faculty, staff
and others stylized to appear as the
“face” of the Statue of Liberty. An artistic
statement about identity, diversity and
immigration, each portrait morphs into
the next, challenging the viewer’s per-
ception of what an American looks like.
Just as the single portraits transform
into a collective piece, Fonseca’s
Faces of
America
has experienced its own evolu-
tion. The original artwork began as a
two-dimensional mural created in 2008 for a class project.
The following year, the portraits welcomed guests to the
2009 Kean Gala at Ellis Island, as well as visitors to the
student lounge in Hutchinson Hall. Most recently, Fonseca
collaborated with his longtime friend and multimedia
production artist, Dimitry Liaros of LensView Films, to cre-
ate the morphing effect for the
Faces of America
animation
video that was featured in the Pune Art Biennial.
