MAKING A
DIFFERENCE
. . .
LEAVING A LEGACY
Ina Giardina ’63 ‘67 M.A. is a Kean University
supporter who has a passion for education and
the arts. Her many visits to house museums
over the years instilled in her a love of old
things. Following a 17-year career as a teacher
of advanced and remedial reading in Newark,
Ina turned her side job of buying and selling
antiques into a business. The layers of history
and the stories attached unfold at every turn at
her shop in Summit where she sells “beautiful
things” and orchestrates estate liquidations. Ina,
also a member of the Kean Arts Council and a
regular at on-campus arts events, is grateful for
the experience and the affordable education she
received at Kean, and is now looking forward to
giving back and creating her own legacy.
“
I owe Kean a great debt. I really wanted to
facilitate someone’s education in a small way
and enable a student to have the opportunities
that were afforded to me.
